Introduction
A physical activity pyramid is a visual guidance for people of all ages to follow for support completing physical activities. Activities are grouped in purposeful types of activities and how often they should be completed within a week length in time. Activities are grouped as daily, 3-5 times a week, 2 times a week, activities to reduce throughout a week, cardio, recreational, strength, and flexibility. Strengths of having the support and guidance form the physical activity pyramid is the organization and guidance the poster can implement for students of all ages in the classroom. A strong and useful section of the pyramid we believe students can benefit from is the top of the pyramid of activities to cut down on. Children sitting in classrooms today tend to live a lifestyle of engaging in video games, watching television, and sitting in front of the computer for social media or playing games. The big idea of implementing the physical activity pyramid in every classroom of Pendergast Elementary school is to educate and incorporate consistent healthy physical activity while reducing frequent leisure activities.
